Recognition As Most Popular Tourist Destination In Asia Helps Promote VMY 2014 - Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The recognition given to Malaysia as the most popular tourist destination in Asia is a great opportunity in promoting Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2014, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Najib in his Twitter posting Sunday, said:" We are recognised as the most popular tourist destination in Asia. "A great push for our Visit Malaysia campaign," he said.

Malaysia was recognised as the Most Popular Tourist Destination Country in Asia at the Top Asia Corporate Ball 2013 here Friday night. It was based on the result of a recent Top 10 survey. It also recognised 20 individuals and corporate organisations for their achievements.

They include Syarikat Prasarana Negara Malaysia Bhd (Malaysia's Biggest Public Transport Service Provider), CIMB Islamic Bank (Top Bank in Malaysia for Best Banking Experience in Islamic Banking) and Datuk David Arumugam (Music Legend).

The VMY 2014 initiative targets to attract a new record of 28 million international tourist arrivals and RM76 billion in tourist receipts.
