KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- The Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY2014) promotion gained a unique exposure in France when a group of Malaysian motorcyclists distributed leaflets on the event to the public at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Malaysian Ambassador to France Tan Sri Ismail Omar and his wife, Puan Sri Suriati Md Sobri, joined the 1Malaysia World Endurance Ride 2013 (1MWER) motorcyclists at the event on Wednesday. "Despite the rain that morning, we attracted more than 200 tourists and locals at the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower," he said in a statement to Bernama Friday.
The promotion was held in conjunction with the IMWER 2013, led by Datuk Zamri Mohamed and including Rosmadi Saad (coordinator), Mohd Ariffin Idris and Mohd Faizal Sukre.
"They brought the message and vision of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on the Global Movement of the Moderates and promoted VMY2014 by distributing brochures, answering questions and mingling with the people," he said.
The second phase of the 1MWER tour was flagged off by the Prime Minister in London Thursday. The second phase will start in Buenos Aires in Argentina, covering South America for 61 days, before entering North America. The team is expected to return to Malaysia via Singapore in February 2014.
