Over 200 World's Rarest Timepieces To Be Auctioned

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Over 200 of the world's rarest timepieces will be auctioned at Asia's grandest luxury watch and jewellery showcase at Starhill Gallery here, beginning Friday.

The seventh edition showcase of the 'A Journey Through Time' which ends Nov 29 is expected to be a hit with timepiece enthusiasts and expert connoisseurs, who will be attuned to the intricate details and excellent craftmanship of the latest and most unique collections from world-renowned brands.

Managing Director of YTL Corporation, Tan Sri Francis Yeoh said 'The Journey Through Time' continued to reach new heights and was able to promote Malaysia as a luxury shopping destination.

He said for the last two years, CNN Travel had voted Kuala Lumpur as the fourth best shopping city in the world.

"Starhill Gallery hopes to continue to play an important role in representing Malaysia as a country which can provide high-end shopping opportunities on a global level," he said at 'The Opening Night of Journey Through Time VII'.

Starhill gallery is owned by YTL Corporation. The event was officiated by Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Mohamed Nazri said Malaysia was an attractive destination for local and global tourists, with its lush tropical rainforests, waterfalls, mountains, legendary natural heritage sights and stunning beaches.

Describing "A Journey Through Time as the most elegant event this year, he said that Malaysia could be truly be proud of it, as it played a major role in diversifying retail activities in Malaysia.
