KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) has set a benchmark as the first convention centre in the world to receive the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Best PR Award.
According to its media release made available to Bernama today, the KLCC bagged the award at the 52nd ICCA Congress 2013 held in Shanghai, China recently.
According to a statement, the win was attributed to the KLCC's strong story-telling, high visibility coverage and brand consistency through their public relations (PR) and media efforts.
Editorial Advisory Board of International Meetings Review (IMR) chairman Martin Lewis said it was the centre's measurement methodology and consistent creativity which won the day.
KLCC general manager Datuk Peter Brokenshire dedicated the award to the centre's team and support agency whose efforts and strategic approach contributed to the achievement.
"With a field of over 1,000 member organisations from over 90 countries eligible for the award, we are ecstatic that the hard work, dedication and persistence of entire team, now has been recognised and rewarded," he said.
The ICCA Best PR Award recognises exceptional PR performance by ICCA members.
