KUALA LUMPUR: Visitors can expect a more comfortable experience browsing through travel packages at the Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair this March.
MATTA Fair March 2014 chairman Judy Cheah said exhibitors would be occupying almost 24,000 sq metres of space, adding that 1,058 booths had been snapped up. “This year, we have a smaller number of halls and fewer floors. A smaller size will create ambience and wider walkways for visitors,” she said at a press conference with MATTA Fair partners Tourism Malaysia and KTM Berhad here yesterday.
The highly popular fair saw its largest exhibition in its 23-year history with 1,269 booths available last year.
With the theme “It’s About Quality, Not Quantity”, Cheah said MATTA was being selective over the exhibitors. “These (exhibitors) are people who have better products. The packages won’t compromise on quality,” she said.
To further enhance visitor experience, Cheah said MATTA was currently training marshals to be placed throughout the fair as an added convenience. “Visitors can approach the marshals if they have questions or need directions,” she said.
Cheah also advised travellers to properly look through potential packages. “If you do not understand the package or their contents, find the booth of the national tourism organisation of the country you wish to visit and double check. “Get educated. Take advantage of the national tourism organisations,” she said.
MATTA Fair will be held at Halls 1, 2 and 3, Hall 1M and Linkway of the Putra World Trade Centre from March 14 to 16. Entrance fee is RM4 and tickets can also be pre-purchased at www.mattafair.org.my.
