In The Pipeline: Bus Shuttle Service From LRT Stations For Foreign Tourists

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Plans are in the pipeline to provide bus shuttle services to facilitate movement of foreign tourists from selected Light-Rail Transit (LRT) station to places of interest in the city, said Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Dr J. Loga Bala Mohan.

He said his ministry was discussing the matter with the Transport Ministry and the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD). The service will be provided at LRT stations which are often used by foreign tourists, he added.

"With the (shuttle) service, they (foreign tourists) can get to these places of interest from the LRT stations with ease," he said after presenting a cheque for RM20,000 to the National Press Club (NPC) at Menara DBKL here today.

The cheque was received by NPC president Mokhtar Hussain who was accompanied NPC deputy president M. Veera Pandiyan, NPC Vice-President Murhayani Othman and several NPC committee members .

Mokhtar said the contribution was for NPC's Journalist Welfare Fare (JWF) which was set up to look after the welfare of Malaysian journalists.
