KUALA LUMPUR: For all those who love wheels, the seventh edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show is bound to amaze your with more than 150 models on display. The 10-day motor show which ends on Dec 12, is organised by the Malaysian Automotive Association and will feature cars which include concept and eco-friendly cars. Visitors can see dazzling displays from familiar names such as Proton, Lotus, Perodua, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Isuzu, Naza, Maserati, Chevrolet, Daihatsu, Chery, Mitsubishi, Kia, Hyundai and Peugeot.
Proton is expected to be among the biggest exhibitors and they will display 20 cars at its stand – from its prototype Saga and Exora electric vehicles and Emas hybrid as well as its race-winning Satria Neo Super 2000 rally car. With the motor show taking on a green spin with the theme “We Care,” there are more eco-friendly cars than on previous editions. Among the electric cars are the Mitsubishi MiEV Sport Air and Chery M1 EV, while hybrids are the Honda Insight, Honda CR-Z, Toyota FT-HS, Toyota 1/X, Lexus LS 600hL, Mitsubishi PX-MiEV and Hyundai ix-Metro to name a few.
In addition, the show will be getting some boost from the reel world – a 16-ft lifesize replica of the Autobot Bumblebee from the Transformers movie and Batman with his Batmobile “Tumbler.” Visitors can also get a chance to win three cars – a Toyota Prius hybrid, two Proton Sagas, and 10 Naza Blitz scooters.
