Tourism Malaysia extends its warmest congratulations to Xiamen
Airlines on the successful launch of its inaugural direct flight between
Quanzhou and Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant milestone in strengthening air
connectivity between Malaysia and southern China. Operating four times weekly,
this new route not only improves accessibility for travellers but also deepens
opportunities in tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between both nations.
From January to August 2025, Malaysia recorded 3.3 million visitor
arrivals from China — a 27.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
With this new direct service, we look forward to welcoming even more travellers
from Quanzhou to explore Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking
natural attractions, and diverse tourism offerings that truly embody the spirit
of Malaysia, Truly Asia.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Mr. Samuel Lee, Deputy
Director General (Promotion II) of Tourism Malaysia, alongside representatives
from Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and Xiamen Airlines, reflecting the
strong partnership between the aviation and tourism sectors.
