IPOH: Tourism Malaysia treated 200 tourism industry players to a sumptuous dinner here recently.

Most of the guests were operators homestays, hoteliers, tour agency personnel and members of the media. Guest-of-honour, Perak Tourism Malaysia director Norshamshida Abdul Rahim, gave away plaques of appreciation to the guests.
Norshamshida said Tourism Malaysia Perak had supported 22 programmes for Visit Perak Year 2012 including the Royal Belum World Drum Festival in Grik, International Prawn Fishing Festival in Teluk Intan and a media familiarisation trip.
"We have also promoted packages like the Perak Food Trail, Perak Cycling Trail and homestays to domestic tourists and Singaporeans," she said.
Norshamshida added that the country's tourism industry is seventh largest achiever of the Gross National Income, after oil and gas, wholesale and retail, palm oil, financial services, agriculture, and electronic sectors.
A live band entertained the guests as they dined. Later, table games and a lucky draw were held. By Diana Yeoh.
