IPOH: A year after commencing operations, Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites held its grand opening to coincide with the memorable date of Dec 12 recently.

The hotel's exterior was lit up with neon-coloured lights while the rain trees lining the banks of Kinta River were decorated with dancing lights.
Morubina group of companies group managing director Datuk Ting Sing Yiew said the location of the 410-room hotel and suites was strategically beside the Kinta River, which was regarded as an important legacy in the town's history.
"The river was an important method of transportation during Ipoh's early days as a tin mining town. "Today, it is also a tourist attraction with thousands of meteor LED lights lit right in front of the hotel," he said.
Guests were treated to a feast of Chinese cuisine and entertained with a performance by preschoolers from Taska and Tadika MMSB. Earlier, there was also an audio-visual display of the hotel's development.
Perak Raja Muda Raja Dr Nazrin Shah and his wife Raja Puan Besar Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the event as the guests-of-honour. Also present was Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
