LEGOLAND® Malaysia Update

“The park is now approximately 90% completed with most of the rides and infrastructure already installed. By the end of this week three quarters of the rides will be fully approved by our engineers. For the past few weeks we have been in the process of putting the final touches to the park by testing the rides, fitting the 15,000 LEGO® models built out of 50 million LEGO® bricks, and finalising the theming across the park.

The MINILAND, at the heart of LEGOLAND, is also nearly completed with most of the 12 “clusters” representing 17 areas around SE Asia approaching completion. If you come up and visit us soon you’ll see the KLCC Twin Towers which are the tallest LEGOLAND MINILAND model ever built. Each tower stands at nearly 10 meters high and 500,000 LEGO bricks were used to build it.” Said Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of LEGOLAND® Malaysia.

“The news of LEGOLAND® Malaysia’s arrival in Johor has been met with nothing but excitement ever since the ground breaking back in 2009. In the last three months our annual passes sales have risen to well over 45,000 jumping by 10,000 since April.

These are being successfully sold in Malaysia, Singapore and regionally throughout Asia following there launch in December 2011. We have also participated actively in road shows around the region to introduce the concept of LEGOLAND and traversed most parts of South East Asia over the last six months,” he added.
