Destination Resorts rolls out tourism projects in Johor and Langkawi

Destination Resorts and Hotels (DRH) is targeting more international travellers to Malaysia with the development of key tourism projects in Johor and Langkawi.

In Johor, the waterfront development of Puteri Harbour, Nusajaya is scheduled to open in January 2013. It will house a Traders Hotel – Nusajaya’s first international hotel – a family entertainment centre and a family-themed restaurant by renowned Malaysian cartoonist, Lat.

Elsewhere in Johor, DRH is also developing the 1,580-hectare Desaru Coast, which will be “a complete leisure and business destination”, according to managing director, Nadziruddin Basri. Due to complete in mid-2015, the integrated luxury destination will comprise four hotels, two designer golf courses, water theme parks, a mall and a convention centre.

DRH’s Langkawi portfolio includes The Golf Club, Datai Bay, an existing golf course built in 1992. Currently undergoing an upgrade to become an international tournament standard 18-hole golf course by designer Ernie Els, it is scheduled for completion next year.

Meanwhile, DRH also plans to build luxury hotels and villas in Datai Bay.
