The colourful lights event, organised by the Tourism and Culture Ministry, will see the lake at Precinct 4 glittering with a parade of a flotilla of 14 decorated boats for the next eight days after the start this evening.
A statement from the ministry said the event, organised for the sixth time, managed to attract thousands of visitors to the federal government administrative centre to watch the three-kilometre procession.
It said the public would have the opportunity to watch the boats decorated with retro-styled Malaysian tourism icons.
The flotilla parade is participated by 14 teams from Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Selangor, Terengganu, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Penang, Putrajaya Holdings and Tourism Malaysia.
The parade starts for an hour from 9pm daily throughout the festival and the boats will anchor off at 11 pm to allow the public to take pictures.
The boats will compete for several titles including Best Overall Boat, Most Creative Boat, Boat with Best Decorative Lights, and Most Popular Boat.
Members of the public can cast their votes for the Most Popular Boat through the ministry's Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/mymotac beginning tomorrow until June 4 by noon.
The event also features cultural performances by the participating states, as well as dancers from Istana Budaya every night.
