Field will be restricted to 120 entries only.
Entry will soon be open to the 29th MPI General-Saujana Amateur Championship to be held at the Bunga Raya golf course, Saujana Golf and Country Club from May 24-26, 2016.
The long-running amateur event which features some of the leading amateurs in the Asia-Pacific region offers some attractive prizes for the best 15 gross and nett scores as well as the best daily gross and nett scores.
Entry fee is set at RM380 nett which includes caddy and buggy on a twin-sharing basis. Participants can contact the golf club for hotel accommodation which will be offered at the on-site The Saujana Hotel.
The tournament was won by 15-year-old Malaysian Daeng Abdul Rahman who came from behind to win with a closing par 72.
Daeng turned the tables on his rivals finishing at 211 to win the crown over Indonesia’s Kevin Caesario Akbar at 213 and Johnson Poh at 214.
The Johor-based player hit 11 out of 14 fairways and attributed his steady play as a winning factor. His path to the title was clear when overnight leader Johnson Poh of Singapore self-destructed on the final three holes going bogey-triple bogey-bogey.
