Avillion Port Dickson added another feather to its cap when the waterfront property emerged triumphant at the 2011 World Luxury Hotel Awards (WLHA) held in Croatia recently. The resort emerged tops in the Country Luxury Boutique Hotel category for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment in providing quality facilities and services to guests.
Inspired by a traditional Malay fishing village, the five-star property which fuses traditional design and contemporary luxury has been wowing guests since it opened its doors over a decade ago. Newly-refurbished, the resort is the ideal retreat for guests who want to experience a slice of “kampung” life in comfortable surrounds.
Avillion Hotel Group executive director Gricia Gan said the resort was committed to providing consistent efficient and personalised service to guests in order to enhance their stay at the property. “The Avillion brand is firmly established, not just locally but internationally and I wish to thank the team for their belief in Avillion Port Dickson. “They have shown their commitment in delivering excellent services to our guests,” she said.
The award is a nod to the excellent services provided by the resort and acknowledges Avillion Port Dickson as a world-class luxury hotel. The WLHA recognises the world’s finest hotels, committed to the highest standards of quality and service. It was founded on the principle of celebrating extraordinary hotels with attentive service and encourages them to maintain excellence within a highly competitive industry.
The WLHA believes that outstanding properties are those that surprise the guest with unexpected bonuses that are more about recognition of the guest. It is all about congratulating hotels that have taken the extra step by providing their guests with outstanding experiences and thus proving themselves to be part of the “very rare legendary hotel” association. A stay at Avillion Port Dickson is an experience in itself as the resort has incorporated personalised touches to make guests feel welcome despite being away from home.
Among them are an author’s corner in the garden where you can spend some quiet time to pen your thoughts; and a petting zoo to keep children busy. The 9.6ha resort along the Port Dickson coastline has a romantic appeal and it is no wonder that it has been the site of many wedding proposals.
The resort recently refurbished all its 259 rooms including the water and garden chalets and incorporated modern touches including iPod docking systems, luxurious beddings, custom-made mattresses and powerful rainshowers that would appeal to the younger crowd while still maintaining its traditional decor.
Avillion Hotel Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Pacific Bhd which operates a chain of luxury properties across the country. The group maintains a total of four Malaysian beach resorts and hotels – Avillion Port Dickson, Avillion Admiral Cove, Avillion Legacy Melaka and Avillion Layang Layang, each one with its own personality and ambience.
