Langkawi Tour And Travel Fair In Singapore On Thursday

LANGKAWI, July 18 (Bernama) -- The Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) will hold a tour and travel fair in Singapore on Thursday to attract more visitors from the republic to the duty-free island. Lada deputy general manager Hanafi Ahmad told Bernama that Singapore was an important market due to its position as a hub for air travel.

Last year, Langkawi recorded more than 40,000 arrivals from Singapore. Twenty-five tour and travel operators, hotels, airlines as well as cultural troupes will participate in the travel fair. Four airlines are currently servicing the Langkawi-Singapore sector namely Singapore's SilkAir and Tiger Airways, and Malaysia's Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.
