AirAsia launches new hub in Japan

PETALING JAYA (Feb 8, 2013): AirAsia Japan has launched a new hub in Japan, with two domestic routes set to operate from Chubu International Airport in Nagoya to Fukuoka and Sapporo (Shin-Chitose).
The low-cost carrier (LCC) said in a statement yesterday that flights from Nagoya to Fukuoka will begin operations on March 31, while flights from Nagoya to Sapporo will begin on April 26.
"We are very proud to achieve this milestone of launching our second hub in Chubu International Airport, Nagoya in less than a year since we started operations. We aspire to further develop the LCC market in the Chubu area through our new hub," said AirAsia Japan CEO Yoshinori Odagiri.
In conjunction with the launch of the new hub, the airline is offering a special promotion with fares from ¥758 one-way, available for booking until Feb 13 for both routes from Nagoya.
The travel period for Nagoya-Fukuoka flights will be from March 31 to June 27, while Nagoya-Sapporo flights will be from April 26 to June 27.
