SABAH,13 September 2025 - Batik Air officially launched its new
direct service from Seoul (Incheon) to Kota Kinabalu on 12 September 2025, with
the inaugural flight arriving at KKIA.
The arrival was warmly welcomed by Ms. Tay Shu Lan, Deputy Chief
Executive Officer of Sabah Tourism Board (STB), Mr. Lee Thai Hung, Deputy
Director General (Promotion II) of Tourism Malaysia, Mr Suresh Vanan, Batik
Air’s Head of Communications and Promotion and Ms. Haryanty Abu Bakar, Director
of Tourism Malaysia Sabah together with representatives from the airport
authorities.
The new service will operate three times weekly using a 175-seater
Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
South Korea remains one of Sabah’s largest and fastest-growing
source markets, recording 192,059 arrivals in 2024 and more than 103,000
arrivals from January to July 2025. This new route is expected to further boost
arrivals and support the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
