Legoland Set To Become Catalyst To Woo High-Quality Leisure Businesses

SINGAPORE, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Legoland Malaysia is set to become a catalyst to encourage other high-quality leisure businesses to the area, said Managing Director of Legoland Parks for Merlin Entertainments, John Jakobsen.

In a statement today, Jakobsen said the opening of the Water Park today was a major milestone in the transformation of Legoland into a resort -- the perfect location for a family's short break.
"It's incredibly exciting to be celebrating the expansion of Legoland Malaysia and the opening of the water park. We share our partners' exciting vision for Johor to become a hub for international entertainment," he said.

Asia's first Legoland Water Park, which is part of the Merlin Entertainment group, opens to the public officially today, promising families yet another exciting adventure.

General Manager of Legoland Malaysia Resort, Siegfried Boerst, said the unique holiday destination offered the entire family adventure, education and fun for action-packed day trips or longer breaks.
"A Legoland Hotel will also open at the beginning of next year, which would complete the plan to develop Legoland Malaysia into the largest family destination resort in South-East Asia," he said.

The resort is strategically located at the heart of the rapidly developing Iskandar Malaysia region, and accessible to both local and international visitors, he said.
