Hot springs and spa the latest attraction at Ipoh water theme park

For wholesome family fun and thrills, the Lost World of Tambun is the place to go. Located in Ipoh, Perak, the theme park comprises multiple elements, each offering unique experiences. The latest offering is the RM2mil 80,000sq ft Lost World Hot Springs and Spa.

Visitors who take a dip in the invigorating bio-thermal hot springs pools will emerge feeling rejuvenated, according to general manager Calvin Ho. He said three million litres of mineral-rich water percolate from the grounds of Tambun and flow through the facility before going into the Kopisan River.

“Those wanting even more relaxation can flock to the massage huts at Crystal Spa, where one can drift away to one’s choice of treatment — be it aromatherapy massage, traditional Malay urut or a head and shoulder massage,” Ho said.

Other elements in the Lost World of Tambun include the Lost World Water Park which features a cascading waterfall and a beach garden along with exhilarating water rides.

One of the rides, the 660m Lost World Adventure River, lined by lush greens, is recognised as the ‘Longest Man-Made River in Malaysia’ by the Malaysia Book of Records. At the Lost World Amusement Park are the Dragon Flight, Stormrider, Perak Parade Carousel, Giddy Galeon, Adventure Express and Lupe’s Adventure rides.

Five Siberian tigers prowl the Lost World Tiger Valley and are the centre of attraction during feeding shows. At the Lost World Petting Zoo, visitors can get up close to adorable creatures. There is also an aviary with over 500 birds.

The Lost World Tin Valley provides a chance for visitors to try their hand at tin-mining, in line with Perak’s past as the world’s largest producer of tin. Alternatively, one can opt for a cave exploration experience in the 700m Six Mile Tunnel.

For a swinging time, try out The Lost World Team Building Park’s high rope facilities, designed to showcase the surrounding limestone cliffs. The rope attractions include the Leap of Faith Para Jump, Wild Woosey, Natural Abseil and Zip Line.

Ho said throughout this month, there would be a Spooky Halloween programme promising all kinds of frights. Adults may test their mettle at the Museum of Asian Horrors, while there are also Spooky Tours and Trick or Treat Hunts for children.

The Lost World of Tambun has sponsored 4,000 entrance passes worth RM180,000 for The Star’s year-end school promotion.

It is open from 11am to 6pm from Mondays to Fridays, and from 10am to 6pm every Saturday, Sunday and public and school holidays. It is closed every Tuesday except during holidays.
