Media Prima ready to promote Visit Melaka Year 2024

 


MELAKA: Media Prima Bhd (MPB) has welcomed its appointment by the Melaka government as the official media partner for Visit Melaka Year 2024.

Media Prima Omnia chief operating officer Mohd Effendi Omar said the nation's largest media organisation had received positive feedback from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof in a special discusson here.

"The chief minister has expressed interest in working closely with MPB, especially in promoting VMY2024. Moving forward from today's meeting, a series of discussions will be held on such cooperation," he said after a courtesy call by the MPB management at Seri Negeri.

The MPB entourage was led by MPB group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Al-Junid.

Also present were State Secretary Datuk Zaidi Johari; state Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman and Media Prima Television Networks deputy group editor (news and current affairs) Azhari Muhidin.

Recently, Rauf had announced the appointment of MPB as the official media partner for VMY2024.

The appointment was to promote the state tourism sector so as to ensure that the VMY2024 campaign would hit its target in drawing tourists to the state next year.

A total of 64 programmes and events will be held for the remainder of the year in the run-up to the launch of VMY2024.

Thirteen of these events are considered major ones, including the Melaka International Muaythai tournament on July 29 and 30, and the Melaka Beca Carnival on Sept 1 and 2. Both events are to be held in Banda Hilir.

Also among the plans are the Sungai Melaka Freshwater Fish Angling and Cooking Competition on Sept 3 and the Melaka International Air Carnival at the Melaka International Airport from Sept 29 to Oct 3.
