A big round of applause to the 28 Bumiputera tourist
guides who recently received their Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG)
recognition from the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC)!
This special ceremony, held at Bertam Resort in Kepala
Batas, Penang, was graced by the presence of YBhg. Tan Sri Khalid Ramli,
Chairman of Majlis Pembangunan Bumiputera Pulau Pinang (MPBPP).
These guides have successfully completed the MFTG
training course organized by ITC, in collaboration with Bahagian Penyelarasan
Penyertaan Bumiputera Pulau Pinang (BPP BPP), Implementation Coordination Unit
(ICU), Prime Minister’s Department and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang
from 5 to 7 February, earlier this year. This intensive programme equipped them
with the knowledge and skills to cater to the growing Muslim tourist market.
With their newfound expertise, these MFTG holders will
play an important role in empowering the Pulau Pinang Bumiputera community
within the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH) sector while
highlighting Penang's Muslim-friendly offerings to tourists from all over the
world.
Congratulations again to the newly certified MFTGs! We
look forward to seeing them showcase the beauty and hospitality of Penang to
Muslim tourists everywhere.
