Resumption of KLIA Ekspres & KLIA Transit Services from 3 January 2023

 


Kuala Lumpur, 15th December 2022 – Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) is going to resume KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services from 3 rd January 2023 to cater to the increasing passenger ridership. Air travellers will be pleased to know that they can once again enjoy a nonstop 28-minute ride between KL Sentral and KLIA (KLIA2: 33 minutes), making KLIA Ekspres still the fastest airport transfer in town.

ERL has been running combined train services following the drop in passenger ridership due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the resumption of the dedicated services, the KLIA Ekspres will run every 20 minutes during morning and evening peak hours. The KLIA Transit frequency will also be revised to run every 15 minutes during weekday peak hours, with the peak hours to be extended to 8 pm (currently 7 pm) for the convenience of commuters.

At its peak, there will be a total of 7 train services running every hour. Both services will run at 30-minute intervals during off-peak. At KL Sentral, the KLIA Ekspres train departure point will revert to the Departure Hall platform.

To welcome back and thank its loyal customers, ERL will be offering “Double Hop-piness Rewards” for EkspreSmiles members to earn 2X EkspreSmiles Points on selected train tickets purchased online. The campaign will run from 3rd to 31st January 2023 to coincide with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

ERL encourages customers to sign up as an EkspreSmiles member and buy tickets via its KLIA Ekspres app or website so that they can enjoy a 10% online discount as well as earn points which they can redeem for discounts on future purchases. Passengers are advised to check the train schedule and plan their journey ahead to minimise their waiting time, as well as ensure sufficient time to make their flights.
