Malaysian Handicraft Targeting RM3.2 Mln In Sales For Aidilfitri

PUTRAJAYA, July 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (Kraftangan Malaysia) expects sales from the Malaysian Craft Promotions from June 26 to July 16 in conjunction with Aidilfitri will reach RM3.2 million.

Kraftangan Malaysia Corporate Communications director Abdul Manan Ismail said 18 shopping centres nationwide had been selected as the locations for the Aidilfitri promotion this year besides the main promotion at Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur participated by 230 handicraft entrepreneurs.

"Kraftangan Malaysia is confident that the target can be achieved. Last year, Warna-Warni Aidilfitri sales promotion reached more than RM2.5 million in sales. The latest Warna-Warni Aidilfitri promotion location this year is the IOI City Mall shopping centre, Putrajaya which was opened in November last year.

"Twenty-three craft entrepreneurs are involved in the Warna-warni Aidilfitri promotions at IOI City Mall with products featured including batik textiles, embroidery, cosmetic accessories, flower arrangement, and raya hampers. Also sold are rattan, ceramic and coconut shell products," he said after the launching of Warna-Warni Aidilfitri promotions at IOI City Mall, here today.

Among the 18 Warna-warni Aidilfitri locations nationwide are The Curve shopping centre, Kota Damansara; Lintasan Deasoka, Kota Kinabalu; Merdeka Plaza, Kuching and Angsana Johor Bahru Mall.
