KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) - Kuala Lumpur will be illuminated by 1,000 lamps until July 17 to mark the Aidilfitri celebration in the capital city.
This follows the launch of Malam Likur@Dataran Merdeka by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor here Saturday.
"Other than symbolising the joy of Kuala Lumpur folks when ushering Aidilfitri, it is also an attraction to tourists," he told reporters after switching on the lamps at Dataran Merdeka tonight.
Also present were Kuala Lumpur Mayor Tan Sri Ahmad Phesal Talib and Mydin Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin.
Mydin Holdings donated 1,000 lamps to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) for Malam Likur@Dataran Merdeka.
Malam Likur@Dataran Merdeka organised by DBKL's tourism unit is one of the events in the KL Tourism Master Plan 2015-2025.
