Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said preparations on the 3.2km track were proceeding smoothly and it will be a completely new experience compared to racing at the Sepang Circuit.
"The circuit will be completed according to schedule on July 31," he told reporters after visiting sections of the track around the federal capital Wednesday.
The KL City GP, a supersports car racing festival at the circuit specially designed along major roads in Kuala Lumpur, is organised by GT Global Race with the cooperation of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
The event is expected to see various GT car races such the Lamborghini Super Cup, Formula Masters, Porsche Carrera Cup and Audi R8 LMS Cup apart from a demonstration of the five best V8 supercars series teams.
The race will start at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre then on to Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Pinang and finishing at KLCC.
