LANGKAWI, July 10 (Bernama) -- The arrival of large numbers of tourists from China recently augurs well for the 'Discover Kedah Year 2016' promotion, said Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) chief executive officer, Tan Sri Khalid Ramli today.
He said Langkawi, being a renowned tourism destination, would definitely benefit from the tourism promotion as it had numerous unique attractions to cater to the Chinese tourists who are nature lovers.
"The arrival (of tourists in big groups) will be a forerunner for the Discover Kedah Year 2016," he said when welcoming the arrival of 1,700 Chinese tourists who came in here under a package arranged by a company from China.
Khalid hoped the group that also comprised artists and journalists could also serve as trendsetters to pave the way for more tourists from China to spend their holidays in the island.
