KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) have been given a new identity and will now be known as the Tournament Players Club Kuala Lumpur (TPCKL).

They successfully acquired the licensing rights as Asia’s first golf facility to join the USPGA Tour’s prestigious TPC network.
The name change is a timely boost ahead of an action-packed October where TPCKL will host the only official PGA Tour FedExCup event in South East Asia - the CIMB Classic (20-23) – and the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia (27-30).
They also hold the distinction of being the first TPC-branded facility in Asia to host a PGA Tour event.
TPCKL chairman and managing director Datuk Ir Jauhari Hamidi: “The agreement with the PGA Tour is a recognition of TPCKL’s tournament-grade golf courses, world-class facilities and services as well as commitment to excellence.
“With this new relationship, we aspire to elevate TPCKL’s status further as the number one golf club in South East Asia.”
The launch was officiated by the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah on Wednesday.
