ALOR SETAR, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, today opened Aman Central, the biggest shopping mall in Kedah, here.
His Majesty delivered a brief address and signed a plaque.
Tuanku Abdul Halim was greeted on arrival by Belleview Group managing director Datuk Sonny Ho, owner of Aman Central.
Kedah Council of Regency chairman Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah and council member Tan Sri Tunku Putri Intan Shafinaz also attended the event.
Also present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and his wife, Datin Seri Hizam Awang Ahmad, state executive councillors and State Secretary Datuk Bakar Din.
The mall, located on 1.25 million sq ft of land, opened for business on Oct 1 last year and is claimed to draw 1.2 million visitors every month.
