PUTRAJAYA, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Tesco Hypermarket is the anchor tenant at the newly opened IOI City Mall here.

Parkson Departmental Store is the other major tenant at the mall launched by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister, Datuk Seri Hasan Malek Thursday.

According to Tesco Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in a statement, the outlet is its 51st. "The 4,000 square meter store uses the 'Food First' concept, where food products make up 80 per cent of the available range," it added.

It said customers would be able to enjoy a brand new range of premium imports and locally-sourced favourites, from best cuts of Australian meats, a good range of organic spices to MyGAP (Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices) certified fish, fruits and vegetables.

Meanwhile, Parkson Corporation Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Toh Peng Koon in his speech at the launch said it was the second Parkson store in Putrajaya and the 40th nationwide. "This new shopping destination is spread over three floors and carries more than 370 local, Asian and international brands, with about 30, that are either new or exclusive to Parkson," he added.
