PLUS Gives 20 Percent Toll Rebate For Hari Raya And Merdeka Holidays

PLUS highway users paying toll electronically will be able to enjoy 20 percent toll rebate on 5, 6, 14, 15 and 31 August during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Merdeka holidays.

PLUS’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid said, “The toll rebate will be given to users paying toll electronically using the PLUSMiles cards, Touch ‘n Go cards or the SmartTAG at PLUS-operated highways. It is our way of rewarding our customers this festive season and is part of our efforts to encourage the public to switch to electronic toll payment system which is easier and faster.”

The move is also part of a traffic management strategy to disperse traffic and to encourage people to travel on non-peak days.

According to Noorizah, the toll rebate can be redeemed at all PLUS customer service centres beginning 16 September until 15 December this year.

Based on studies on travelling trends during the previous festive seasons, PLUS expects the traffic on the NSE to increase by 30 percent to 1.4 million vehicles every day this Hari Raya and Merdeka holidays.

“Paying toll electronically will result in smoother and faster passage at toll plazas,” urged Noorizah.

However, the toll rebate will not be offered to those paying toll electronically at the Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and the Penang Bridge toll plazas.
