JOHOR BAHARU, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Construction of phase two of the Johor Premium Outlets (JPO), covering over 100,000 sq ft, is scheduled to open in November 2013.
In a statement Tuesday, JPO said phase two will have approximately 40 stores, bringing the total to 120. "These stores will enhance the shopping experience for visitors and continue to support the economic development of the area," it said.
Since its opening in 2011, JPO has grown to become a major shopping destination attracting millions of visitors from Malaysia, Singapore and the region, it said.
The outlet is operated by Genting Simon Sdb Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of Simon Genting Ltd, which in turn is a 50:50 joint venture between Genting Plantation's Azzon Ltd and Premium Outlets, the outlet division of Simon Property Group.
JPO said it will hold a three-day job fair starting Aug, 24 from 10am until 7pm. The fair, organised in collaboration with the centre's tenants, aimed to recruit full-time and part-time staff for over 40 stores.
"Some of the participating brands at the fair include Aigner, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Bread And Butter, COACH, Columbia, Dome Cafe, FURLA, Kampachi Japanese Restaurant, Hugo Boss and Polo Ralph Lauren," it said.
