Johor, 17 April 2013 – A group of pre-schoolers together with members of the media were amongst the first to watch LEGOLAND® Malaysia’s brand new 4D movie The Legends of Chima™ ahead of its official opening to visitors on Saturday 20th April. The movie features special effects such as water, wind and smoke. They create a unique sensory experience that take 3D to a fourth dimension and immerse the audience in an adventure filled LEGO® world.
“I am delighted to be unveiling our latest 4D movie at LEGOLAND Malaysia, which is the only place in South East Asia where you can watch the Legends of Chima movie in 4D. We are committed to enhancing the guest experience at
LEGOLAND, and this highly anticipated 4D movie comes less than a year after the Park opening. It is an exciting new addition to the more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions on offer,” said Siegfried Boerst, General
Manager of LEGOLAND Malaysia.
As part of LEGOLAND Malaysia’s on-going commitment to engage guests as well as the wider local community, 27 pre-schoolers from Tadika Freesia were invited to join this exclusive movie preview. “It was a great honour to be among the very first people to see the Legends of Chima 4D movie. The students had a wonderful time at LEGOLAND and enjoyed the 4D movie very much. It is heartening that LEGOLAND invited children from the local community to be part of the preview event,” said Ms. Jessica Chai, Director for Tadika Freesia.
The animated movie showcases an exciting new range from LEGO and brings key Legends of Chima characters to life. State of the art 3D animation brings the audience right into the heart of their journey as they sweep through
dramatic landscapes, flying through the magical waters of Mount Cavora and soaring over the majestic Speedorz Arena of Chima in a high speed chase. A range of sensory special effects synchronised to the action on screen add
the 4D element of extra excitement and drama.
The story takes place in the world of Chima, where tribes of animal warriors compete in epic battles for CHI, a mystical energy source of limitless power and destruction. The audience follows four young animals as they take a guided tour of Chima with Plovar the Parrot and become entwined in a struggle between good and evil as they help their hero Laval the Lion Prince do battle with Cragger the Crocodile King. The climax of the adventure comes as Laval and Cragger take to their Speedorz vehicles in a super-charged, super-fast race to capture a precious supply of CHI.
When the movie opens at the weekend, Park visitors will also be treated to special discount vouchers from Canon, LEGOLAND Malaysia’s official imaging partner. These vouchers offer a special discount of RM20 off a LEGO Legends
of Chima photo brick wall, as well as RM 10 off 8R size ride photos. Other vouchers will also be given to guests, entitling them to special deals on in-Park retail and F&B until 30 April 2013.
During this period, guests will have the opportunity to meet the Chima mascot as it makes regular appearances throughout the Park. In addition, guests can enjoy Legends of Chima building games and competitions in the Build and Test Centre. These activities revolve around Chima Speedoz, a spinning top that is adapted from the tribes Ultimate Vehicle. Guests can take part in a Speedoz training session and build their personal Speedoz before competing against one another in the ultimate challenge. Besides the hands-on-experience, guests can also stroll down the Legends of Chima LEGO model exhibition in the Build and Test Centre where the world of Chima comes to life with the displays of the Chima characters.
