PETALING JAYA: Low-cost carrier AirAsia has added another route to its Malaysia-Indonesia connection with daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Semarang.
There will be direct flights every day from the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to the Achmad Yani International Airport in Semarang. The flight from Kuala Lumpur at 7.20am arrives in Semarang at 8.30am (GMT+7), while departure from Se marang to Kuala Lumpur is at 9am (GMT+7) and arrives at 12.20pm.
AirAsia’s regional commercial head Kathleen Tan said the service linked the two cities on a route, which no other airline currently served. “The airline received approximately 5,000 flight bookings during the new destination’s initial sale from Dec 12 to 18 last year. “The response shows that there is demand for the route and AirAsia is ready to develop it further should demand increase in the future,” she said in a statement yesterday.
In conjunction with the route’s inaugural flight, the carrier is offering a special promotion with all-in-fares from as low as RM109 one-way. The promotion, which runs until Sunday, is for the travel period between tomorrow and April 30. The promotion is available via www.airasia.com and at AirAsia travel service centres and airport sales counters.
