Tourism Malaysia Continues Impactful Roadshow To Australia | Second Stop In Sydney

SYDNEY — Building on the momentum from its successful first stop in Melbourne, Tourism Malaysia continued its Roadshow to Australia with the second city programme held in Sydney on 27 August 2026. The initiative forms part of Tourism Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international tourism ties and intensify promotional activities for Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027).

Led by Mr Mohamad Libra Lee Haniff, Director of International Promotion Division (Americas, Europe & Oceania), the Sydney programme highlighted key tourism pillars including VM2026–2027, the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, and Malaysia’s medical tourism offerings through the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC).

The delegation comprised 20 Malaysian organisations, representing travel agencies, hotels and resorts, tourism product operators, associations, and MM2H agents. The Sydney session recorded an encouraging turnout of approximately 170 Australian buyers, bringing the total number of buyers engaged across both Melbourne and Sydney to around 300. This strong participation underscores the continued interest of the Australian market and provides an expanded platform for Malaysian industry players to forge new partnerships, strengthen existing business ties.

The networking dinner in Sydney also featured engaging cultural elements, including a lucky draw session and a lively batik and kain pelikat fashion showcase, offering guests a colourful glimpse into Malaysia’s heritage while enhancing the overall event experience.

Through this second-city roadshow, Tourism Malaysia continues to reinforce collaboration with Australian tour operators, hotels, airlines, and ensuring Malaysia remains a preferred destination not only for leisure travel but also for long-stay programmes, cultural exchanges, and lifestyle migration.
