KUALA LUMPUR – Tourism Malaysia warmly welcomed the arrival
of Riyadh Air at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today, celebrating
the Saudi national carrier’s historic maiden entry into Southeast Asia. The
landmark flight signals a transformative era in bilateral tourism cooperation
and opens direct access for high-yield Saudi visitors to Malaysia.
The inaugural flight arrived at KLIA from King Khalid
International Airport, Riyadh, representing Riyadh Air’s first scheduled
commercial service to Malaysia and its inaugural destination within the region.
Operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the
Riyadh–Kuala Lumpur route utilises Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured
to accommodate up to 290 passengers per flight. This strategic connection
significantly enhances direct accessibility while fostering deeper tourism, trade,
and investment exchanges between both nations.
