Malaysia has once again
clinched the #1 spot in the Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel
Index (GMTI) 2025, earning the title Top Muslim-Friendly Destination of the
Year at the Halal in Travel Global Summit in Singapore.
This marks a decade of
dominance in Muslim-friendly travel — a milestone that reflects the nation's
strong commitment, from policy to practice, in creating inclusive, welcoming,
and faith-based travel experiences.
Deputy Minister of Tourism,
Arts and Culture YB Khairul Firdaus, who accepted the award, lauded the
collaborative spirit of industry players, government and private sectors, and
the role of Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) in shaping Malaysia's trusted MFTH framework.
Key programmes like MFAR
& MFTG are transforming industry standards – with over 56 recognised
businesses and 307 certified guides nationwide.
As we gear up for Visit
Malaysia 2026, this recognition is a powerful boost. Let’s continue leading the
way in Muslim-Friendly Tourism & Hospitality!
