Welcome to the Mount TrusMadi International Climbathon, an exhilarating competition celebrating the splendor of Mt. TrusMadi, the second highest mountain in Malaysia, towering at 2,642 meters (8,668 feet). Nestled in the picturesque highlands of Tambunan, Sabah, this event aims to showcase the natural wonders of Mt. TrusMadi to a local and global audience while promoting eco-tourism initiatives.
Experience unparalleled landscapes and breathtaking views from the mountain peak, offering a visual spectacle like no other for trail runners. Unlike traditional trail races, this event combines the challenges of trail running with climbing Mt. TrusMadi. The 30km race boasts an estimated total elevation gain of 2,013 meters, while the 21km race offers an estimated total elevation gain of 967 meters (excluding the peak).
Mt. TrusMadi is located within the Nuluhon Conservation Area, home to many rare bird species including the Bulwer's pheasant. Mt. TrusMadi is also habitat to a variety of nepenthes species, including the unique Nepenthes x Trusmadiensis found only in Mt. TrusMadi and it's renowned for being the habitat of the world's largest flower, the Rafflesia Flower.
