Free use of all RapidKL operated transport for a month

 

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians will be able to use all public transport operated by RapidKL for free, for a month starting today.


These involve the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit, Bus Rapid Transit, monorail as well as RapidKL buses.


Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob made the announcement when he officiated the first phase of the MRT Putrajaya Line this morning.


The public can start using the new line, which comprises 12 stations between Kwasa Damansara and Kampung Batu, from 3pm today.


Of the total stations, nine of them namely Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara Barat, Sri Damansara Sentral, Sri Damansara Timur, Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, Jinjang, Sri Delima and Kampung Batu are new stations.


The remaining stations Kwasa Damansara, Kampung Selamat and Sungai Buloh stations were previously part of the MRT Kajang Line.


The new line will be served by 20 train sets. Each train set consists of four cars and can carry a total 1,200 passengers. The trains operate on fully automatic mode and are driverless.
