Malindo Air opens ticket sales for new route Kota Baru–Langkawi

KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air today announced that all bookings are now open for its new Kota Baru – Langkawi – Kota Baru service which will commence on Jan 22.

The airline said its four-times weekly service marks the airline's new route into Langkawi in meeting the demand for domestic travel.

"Promotional fares for one-way on this new route Kota Baru – Langkawi start from RM169, all inclusive of 15kg free baggage allowance," it said in a statement.

"In conjunction with the launch of this new route," Malindo said, "the 15-kg free baggage allowance is also extended to super saver ticket holders."

Flight OD1334 will depart Kota Baru at 10.15am and arrive in Langkawi at 11.20am.

The return flight OD1335, it noted, will then depart Langkawi at 2.50pm and arrives in Kota Baru at 4.05pm.

"This new service will be operated by our turbo-prop ATR72-600 aircraft, with a seating capacity of 72.

"We are very delighted to launch our latest service between Kota Baru and our famous holiday destination of Langkawi," Malindo Air's chief executive officer Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri said.

This new service, he said, was in response to the high demand from the public.

"We believe there are immense opportunities for future growth associated with this new connectivity. Langkawi is a tax-free haven.

"It's breath-taking natural scenery and landscape, with its local touch of cultural heritage, has made Langkawi a great tourist attraction.

"This new route will not only attract the tourism industry but also business from VFR (visiting family and relatives) and the business community.

"We will work closely with the Langkawi Development Authority, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Kelantan, and all the tourism agencies in both states."
