KUANTAN: The Pahang
government will continue to promote tourism products in Kuala Tahan and Kuala
Tembeling, which are the entry points to Taman Negara, said state Tourism,
Environment, Plantation and Biotechnology Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohd
Sharkar Shamsuddin.
He said the move was taken because tourism
activities in the two areas were badly affected by the massive floods in 2014.
He said among the worst affected were homestays,
resorts and motels around Kuala Tahan and Kuala Tembeling, hence priority for
repair and upgrading works should be at these places.
“For long-term planning, the state government will
also collaborate with travel agents, boat operators at the national park, as
well as the media to promote the two areas,” he said.
