The BMW Malaysian Open is the most prestigious tennis tournament for women in the country and 2016 marks the 7th time that Malaysia is hosting this event.
This year, the event will take place from 29th February until 6th March 2016 at a new venue - the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC). Sanctioned by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), the tournament will see 32 single players and 16 doubles teams competing in a knockout competition over the course of the seven day tournament for the prize purse of USD 250,000.00.
The tournament is organized by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) and promoted by Carbon Sports Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia.
