MGA to host golf symposium

The Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) will host the Malaysia International Golf Symposium in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 26-28.

This year’s theme — Golf Sustainability and Innovation — will focus on the development of new and innovative ways to attract golfers to golf clubs, run more efficient and profitable golf facilities.

Organising chairman Bryan Perera said the symposium would be a platform to look at the current difficulties facing the golf industry. “There is a decline in the number of memberships and rounds played. A number of our speakers will explore ways in which to utilise the assets within the business including the power of Internet to grow," said Bryan.

The event has the support of Tourism Malaysia and the Golf Club Managers Association of Malaysia (GCMAM) and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Malaysia (GCSAM).

Among the speakers are Dr Chew Seng Poh, Keith Mc Auliffe, Patrick Feizal Joyce, Norman Spitzig, Paul Gibbons and Ramesh Menon. There will be a roundtable discussion with Bryan as the moderator. For more information, log on to www.mgaonline.com.my
