Get your special tickets for F1 Race and Rain concert

The F1 post-race concert featuring Rain on April 10 will be open for free for all Grandstand ticket holders of the 2011 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix; but those with Hillstand tickets will need to top up by RM138 to catch the superstar’s performance. However, in conjunction with the on-going F1 Carnival in Kuala Lumpur, race promoter Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will be offering a special combined ticket for access at both the F1 race and the 2011 Malaysia Grand Prix Concert Rain Live at RM200 for seats at the covered Hillstand C2.

“These promo tickets, however, is only available at our ticket counter at Fahrenheit Mall Kuala Lumpur; and is only offered for the first 1,000 ticket buyers.  And, it’s just for three days; beginning today. So, I guess you will need to act fast to grab these promo tickets,” says SIC Chief Executive Officer Dato Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali. Situated at the Atrium, Concourse Area on the Ground Floor, the ticketing counter at Fahrenheit Mall operates for 10am to 10pm.

“After Sunday, the bundled tickets would go to normal priced at RM258 for tickets at the covered Hillstand C2; and RM198 for the other hillstands. For those who have already purchased their Hillstand tickets, they can attend the concert by purchasing a top-up ticket for each Hillstand ticket they hold at RM138 each.

“To enter the concert grounds, both the top-up ticket and the accompanying Hillstand ticket will be required for scanning at the entry gates … the top-ups can be done at any of our ticket counters after next Wednesday (March 16),” he said, adding that for those who want to come to the concert would need to buy the bundled tickets.

“There’s no ticket sold just for the concert,” said Razlan, who is the event director for the 2011 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix – the second round of this season’s F1 world championship that would be held at Sepang Circuit from April 8 to 10. Tickets at C2, which give a perfect view of the South Track and oversee Turn 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and the back straight, is priced at RM120; while seats at the other Hillstand areas – K1, C1 and C3, are priced at only RM60; and are the cheapest F1 tickets as compared to any other Formula 1 venues around the world.

Razlan also announced that SIC would be offering 20 back stage passes, which fans could win through a contest to be announced by the organizers soon. “For all these exciting details, fans should check us on Facebook as well as updates on our website,” he said, adding that the post-race concert would start immediately after the F1 race podium ceremony with a fashion show by STYLO and featuring the finalists of Malaysia’s Ford Model Search Supermodel of the World. It would then be followed by a top local artist before Rain would take centrestage.

Born to the name Jun-Ji Hoon on June 25, Rain is a multi-talented artist whose musical career included seven albums. In 2004, he won the KBS excellence award in acting for his role in a drama series Full House, which is screened outside Korea. He acted in American films Speed Racer in 2008 and Ninja Assassin in 2009 and is the first Korean to win an MTV award. Rain would be bringing his own dance team and fans can expect a sensational show by the pop star.

“Like the F1 race itself, the show is definitely something that the fans especially Malaysians would not want to miss,” said Razlan, adding that the concert would be held at a special stage to be set up at the circuit’s Helipad area that faces the Kuala Lumpur International Airport terminal.
