KOTA BHARU, Aug 29 -- Good news for food
lovers in Kelantan as they will have a chance to sample scrumptious delicacies
from ASEAN member countries in the 10-day ASEAN Food & Heritage Festival
2019.
Organised by Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Kelantan office, the festival showcased delicacies from ASEAN member countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Brunei, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines, as well as popular Kelantanese cuisines.
Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik said the festival could help boost the Malaysian tourism industry especially in Kelantan.
He said this after attending the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Food and Heritage Festival 2019 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here last night.
Also present were MOTAC Kelantan office director Mohd Aidil Afizie Daud and Kelantan Tourism Malaysia director Hafiz Hazin.
Muhammad Bakhtiar said he expected more than 100,000 visitors to attend the festival and to raise RM1 million in sales during the 10-day event which started on Aug 22.
