KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- All visa application for visit to Malaysia from Feb 15 to Dec 31 this year by Chinese nationals will be exempted from paying the visa fee, which is equivalent to RM30.
The Home Ministry in a statement today said the visa fee waiver would be implemented at all Malaysian embassies abroad which issued visa to Chinese nationals.
"The duration of stay allowed is 30 days and cannot be extended and the conditions for the visa application remain," it said.
This is in tandem with an announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last month on the giving of free visa to tourists from certain countries, including China, to promote MyFest2015.
For visa applications made through one-stop centres which are allowed to operate in some countries, they are still subjected to the service charge imposed by the centre concerned.
