JOHOR BAHARU, Feb 4 (Bernama) -- Legoland Malaysia Resort will organise several programmes in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations including building 1,888 Mandarin oranges using lego blocks.
Its general manager Mark Germyn said visitors were welcome to join the building activity starting today until Feb 22, in an attempt to set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) for the most number of Mandarin oranges built from lego blocks on March 6.
"Some 1,888 oranges will be built using 69,856 lego blocks. One orange requires the use of 37 lego blocks," he told reporters at a ceremony to introduce the theme park's new attractions in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, here today.
Germyn said Mandarin oranges were considered as a symbol of 'good luck' to the Chinese and it was hoped visitors would use their imagination and creativity in building the oranges.
He said, Legoland Malaysia Resort had also lined up an array of other interesting activities for the celebration month including 'Make A Wish' programme.
Visitors to the park could write their festive greetings and wishes starting the first weekend in February until the end of the month and all wishes would be displayed at the park.
"One wish from the thousands displayed at the entrance of the park will be selected and fulfilled on March 6," he added.
