KOTA BAHARU, Dec 26 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) targets sales of RM8 million for tourist packages during the three-day Kelantan Matta Fair which began today.
The same event in 2012 reaped sales of RM6 million. Kelantan Matta chairman Wan Muhamad Zamri Wan Salleh said about 10 travel agencies and airline companies are taking part in this year's edition.
"The programme plays an important role in attracting domestic and foreign tourists, as well as help carry out the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 programme," he told reporters after launching the exhibition here Thursday.
It was officiated by State Culture, Tourism and Heritage committee chairman Datuk Hassan Mahmood while Kelantan Tourism Malaysia director Nor Aida Ismail was also present. Wan Muhamad Zamri said they anticipate some 30,000 visitors to make their way to the event.
