KUALA LUMPUR: The Tourism Ministry has extended its condolences to the families of two Indian nationals killed in a bus crash at KM4.5 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway, near here, on Monday.
In a statement Tuesday, the ministry also expressed its sympathies to the 20 other victims and their families, and pledged to work within its capacity with the relevant authorities to facilitate arrangements that need to be made. Towards this end, the ministry's officers had visited all of the 20 victims admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Selayang Hospital.
"They also met up with officials from the High Commission of India in Malaysia; representatives from TLM Leisure & Convention who handled the group in Malaysia; as well as representatives from D. Paul Travel & Tours from New Delhi, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur this morning," it said.
The tour bus carrying the holidaymakers from India was on its way back from the highland resort of Genting Highlands when it went out of control and skidded before landing on its side while negotiating a sharp downhill bend at about 8am.
