“Today was quite a good day. Valencia has not been my best track in the past so I’m happy to have started the weekend like we have. Of course we still need to make a big step ahead of qualifying tomorrow but in general I feel good on the bike. Already in FP2 I did my best lap time around this circuit, with a medium tyre. It was the final minutes of each practice where I lost out the most; for the rest of the session we were up there; so this is something I have to work on for tomorrow and continue to improve right until the very end.
I’m happy with the bike and I feel confident that we can do well here. For sure qualifying will be tough and the times are going to be close but we will push to be up at the top end.”

“We had a great start today. This is one of my favourite tracks and we could begin the weekend strong. In FP1 we focussed on the job and finished in the top ten, then for the second practice we changed our bike setting and it worked even better. We were able to improve our lap time and position and in the end finished fifth; I think my best start to a race weekend this year. The only thing we didn’t test today was the soft tyre, so we will try this during FP3; then we will know what we have to do in the qualifying.
I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and I will try my hardest to be close to the front and get a good grid position for the race.”
